All Egyptians feared their gods and their Pharoahs. Their gods, if angered, would cast upon them great disasters, such as the Nile not flooding, or great sandstorms. Underneath all of these fears and obligations were normal, hardworking Egyptian farmers trying to make their way. They would try to impress their Pharoah by doing extra work for him, giving him offerings, or other gratuitous acts. The worst jobs in ancient Egypt was working as a slave. Day and night you would have to haul 3 ton blocks across a blazing desert, with little or no water between you and your co-workers. These hazardous conditions were often filled in by slaves of captured or surrendered coutries that had come into contact with Egypt.
