Social Levels

Egypt had very similar statuses as we do today. They had Upper class citizens, Middle class, and lower class. Upper class people were wealthy merchants, nobleman, priests, or any of the above's relatives. Middle class people were the normal working class. They had homes with some jewelry and valuable items, but nothing compared to the Upper class citizens. Lower class were the poor people of Egypt. Many hadn't any home, and were avoided by others. These were "people who had disobeyed their god". Associating with these people was believed to be bad luck.
