Language

Egyptian language was based very much like how our languages are based today. They had both a spoken and a written form of Ancient Egyptian. Though the spoken form has never been heard, and cannot possibly be spoken just be reading their writing, we will probably never know how to speak ancient Egyptian. Their writing, though, is very much decipherable. It is a series of symbols, and shapes, all standing for a sound (such as an "e" in our language) and some are symbols for people, places, or things. Below is a simple guide to the Egyptian heiroglyph alphabet.
